Six Leadville Museums Partner to Offer Discounted Admission with Passport
The Leadville Museum Passport is valid through Labor Day Weekend and also provides discounts at selected museum gift shops

LEADVILLE, Colo. (May 27, 2010) – Through a collaborative effort between the museums of Leadville, the Museum Passport will be available all summer.  This combination ticket is valid for one visit to each of the following museums: the Heritage Museum, the Tabor Home, the Healy House and Dexter Cabin, the Tabor Opera House, the Matchless Mine, and the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum.  In addition to saving money on admission, the passport provides the convenience of purchasing only one admission ticket and discounts at selected museum gift shops. Since it is valid through Labor Day weekend, the Passport holders can return and visit the museums at different times throughout the summer.

“The museums have come together to provide an experience we hope will encourage visitors to explore and discover all the hidden gems of our community,” said Kat Neilson, curator of the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum.

The museums uniquely preserve the dynamic stories of Leadville’s past. Guests can see 10th Mountain Division memorabilia at the Heritage and relax in the lush gardens at the Healy House. The Tabor Saga can be explored through three museums: the Tabor Home, Horace and Augusta’s first home in Leadville; the Tabor Opera House, built at the height of Tabor’s wealth and power; and the Matchless Mine, where Elizabeth “Baby Doe” Tabor spent the last 30 years of her life and where the tragic story ends. Geusts can round out their museum tour with the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, where they’ll find three walk-through mine replicas, a world-class mineral collection and much more.

The price will be $30 for adults (ages 13-16), $25 for seniors (ages 62 and better) and $14 for children (ages 5 – 12). The Passport will be available for purchase beginning Friday, May 28, 2010, at the six participating museums and the Leadville and Lake County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center located at 809 Harrison Ave.  For more information, call 719-486-3900 or 888-532-3845.
