Dear Friends,
May is an exciting time here in Leadville and Twin Lakes. We're thawing out from
a wonderfully snowy winter and can't wait to enjoy summer in the mountains. Here
are just a few of the things happening now and during the coming weeks...

Mt. Massive Golf Course, North America's highest golf course, opens May 9; most
of Leadville's museums are open by mid-May; the Leadville, Colorado & Southern
Railroad opens for the season on May 23; Independence Pass, which connects Twin
Lakes and Aspen, opens Memorial Weekend; the Historic Tabor Opera House begins its
summer season on June 13; and the Ride the Rockies bicycle tour will stop in Leadville
on June 17.

May is also a great month to find a good deal. You'll find last-minute deals, dinner
specials and sales throughout the county. Be sure to check the blog for upcoming events, deals and specials as well. Give us a call at 888-532-3845 to plan your visit!

Everything that is Colorado is right here...shouldn't you be here, too?

FOLLOW THE COLORADO GOLD TRAIL
In 2009, Colorado is celebrating 150 years of gold mining. In commemorating
this migration, several towns that were founded due to the discovery of gold formed
the "Colorado Gold Trail." The participating communities include:  Leadville, Boulder, Gilpin County (Black Hawk/Central City), Idaho Springs, Breckenridge and Park County (Fairplay, Alma and Como). Click here to see a map of the Colorado Gold Trail, or stop by the Leadville/Lake County Visitor's Center at 809 Harrison Avenue in Leadville for a free brochure and map.

A REASON TO VISIT NOW: RELAXING GETAWAY
Since May is such a busy month for many folks, it can also be a bit Downtown Leadville
stressful. Our stress reduction tip for the month: find a peaceful, beautiful spot to get away from it all. Make sure it's affordable so that you don't create more stress by going
over budget. A place off the beaten path, with a nice, paved trail to walk off those
worries. Good restaurants are a must, topped off with a pampering massage and even
a little retail therapy. Lucky for you, we know just the place. It's time to visit
Leadville
and Twin Lakes!
