A big thanks to everyone who has visited lately, whether you were here for the rodeo,
July 4th celebration, a race, or just to enjoy the area. The average high temperatures
in Leadville are in the mid-70s this time of year, so it's a great time to come
on up and escape the heat. Boom Days is just around the corner, along with Leadville
Trail 100 races, train rides and events at the Tabor Opera House and National Mining
Hall of Fame & Museum.
The Timberline Lake Trail is one of the area's most popular hikes. Visit our online hiking center for a list of trails and what to pack to stay safe at high elevations. You can also
drop by the Leadville Lake County Visitor Center at 809 Harrison Avenue for free
maps and information.

Boom Days Celebration
August 6 - 8
Leadville relives the glory of its mining "Boom Days" each year with a three-day
celebration reminiscent of the 1880s, when more than 30,000 people lived in this
scenic town. This year, Boom Days will be held August 6 - 8. Events and activities
will include a food and craft fair, parade, car show, kids' competitions, motorcycle
games, live music, mining competitions, 1880s costume mosey, rod and gun show, pancake breakfasts and more. On Sunday, the 21-mile International Pack Burro Race will take center stage starting at 11 a.m. Don't miss out on the fun!

"The Leadville Museum Passport offers discounts on admission at six of Leadville's
museums, including the Heritage Museum, the Tabor Home, the Healy House and Dexter
Cabin, the Tabor Opera House, the Matchless Mine, and the National Mining Hall of
Fame and Museum. Each pass is valid through Labor Day and good for one visit to
each museum."
