There are so many things to do and see in Lake County. The Leadville Lake County Visitor Center at 809 Harrison Avenue in downtown Leadville is a great resource for maps, menus, brochures and information about these and other area attractions.
Camp Hale and the 10th Mountain Division
Camp Hale, training site of the 10th Mountain Division, prepared troops for winter survival during World War II. Camp Hale was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 10, 1992. There are interpretive signs at the Camp Hale site and at the entrance to Ski Cooper.Community Events
Leadville and Twin Lakes, Colorado, host special events and activities throughout the year, including Ski Joring held the first full weekend in March; the Leadville Trail 100 race series; and Boom Days, held the first full weekend in August. Community Park and Sports Complex
